Designed around Dave Mustaine’s iconic sound, the Seymour Duncan Dave Mustaine Thrash Factor Black Nickel features two passive pickups for electric guitar: a Thrash Factor at the bridge and an SH-1n ’59 Model at the neck. The set is directly inspired by the configuration used by Mustaine during the recording of *Rust In Peace*, with a clear aim: to recapture that distinctive sonic character that defined the album’s riffs and solos.

The Thrash Factor captures the spirit of Seymour Duncan’s famous JB, but with a character tailored to Dave Mustaine’s needs. Its specific winding emphasises tighter bass, slightly recessed mid-range and more aggressive treble. The result is a crisp, incisive attack, particularly well-suited to fast riffs and overdriven rhythm parts.

On guitar, every palm-mute gains in impact whilst the individual notes remain clearly distinct, even when the overdrive is heavy.
