Sonicware - LIVEN Evoke

LIVEN Evoke is designed for artists in search of gentle electronic soundscapes. With no percussion, it is in the ambient, post-classical and cinematic vein. Its sound palette is based on four synthesised acoustic instruments, enhanced by hypnotic granular effects, in a compact, light and mobile format. It embodies the blurred boundary between analogue memory and digital exploration.

The core sound is based on an Acoustronic Flux engine, a subtle combination of 34 acoustic instruments (from piano to hang drum) and 20 electronic waveforms. The result? A rare harmonic richness, ranging from airy layers to granular textures, with fluid modulation that gives movement to the slightest chord. The BACKTIDE effects, which reverse the sonic evolution of the samples, add an organic dimension to every note played.

Grain FX takes the experience a step further by fragmenting musical phrases into micro-grains, which can then be manipulated: widening, stretching, harmonising, diffusing in space. Unlike purely destructive effects, this one remains musical. It can follow the tempo of the piece, harmonise its grains to musical intervals, and even process external signals via the stereo line input.

The on-board reverb is another key to this hushed ambience. Ten types are available, ranging from small rooms to the particularly enveloping 'Mirage' effect. Each track can independently dose its reverb and send to the Grain FX, allowing dynamic contrasts between near and far elements in the mix. By combining the two, you can create truly immersive landscapes.

The 4-track sequencer lets you capture ideas without constraint: 64 steps per pattern, 128 patterns, step-by-step or real-time recording, and lock parameter on each step. Functions such as random playback and note trigger probability make sequences organic and unpredictable. The 'One Finger Chord' mode, with its 16 chord styles, makes it possible for anyone, even those with no musical training, to create coherent progressions.

Finally, with its built-in loudspeaker, battery power (up to 10 hours' autonomy) and full connectivity (MIDI, sync, audio in/out), the LIVEN Evoke slips into a rucksack and accompanies you everywhere. In the studio, on location or in a quiet corner of the living room, it transforms silence into atmosphere.
