For these Naturelles, nothing has been left to chance: solid red cedar or Sitka spruce tops for the top-of-the-range models, mahogany or rosewood bodies, silver/nickel alloy bars, fine-gold-plated oil-bath tuners, and, of course, guitars made using the expertise of Takamine Valley luthiers.
Today, the same components and the same spirit have gone into the reissue of the Naturelles series, guitars that are still handmade at the brand's original site in Sakashita, and offered exclusively to French dealers.

In Japan, in the foothills of the eponymous mountains, Takamine was born in a region where woodworking was an age-old tradition. In 1959, Mass Hirade, the master luthier who founded the Japanese brand, set up his workshops there to design classical guitars and mandolins. Over the decades, the range of instruments expanded to include electro-acoustic guitars, which quickly conquered the world.
In the 1980s, under the impetus of the brand's French distributor, the Natural (Naturelles) models were launched, with the aim of combining traditional lutherie with the latest innovations in integrated preamplifiers. These prestigious guitars were an immediate international success, becoming a benchmark that has never been equalled by the competition.
