Martinez Almeria Cypress Luthier The MARTINEZ Almeria Luthier Cypress embodies all the passion of Andalusia in its nylon strings. The solid spruce top and cypress back bring out the dry, warm timbre characteristic of flamenco. The Fishman Presys preamp carries this passion right onto the stage.

Presentation
The MARTINEZ Almeria Cypress Luthier was born from the very same soil as the palmas and the heels tapping on wood, in this part of Andalusia where the guitar speaks before words do. From the very first bars, the solid spruce top responds to the playing with a crisp attack and a bass that snaps rather than rumbles across the six nylon strings. It is a dry, direct sound, made for rhythm rather than a rich, full tone.
The cypress back alone tells the story of the traditional flamenco guitar – a light, lively wood that Andalusian luthiers have chosen for generations for its immediate response and clarity in the treble. The mahogany neck moulds to the hand without ever feeling heavy, and the ebony fingerboard maintains that crisp feel under the fingers, bar after bar.
The 650 mm scale length and 50 mm nut width create a generous neck, familiar to those coming from a classical guitar background, ideal for both rasgueados and the most delicate arpeggios. The cutaway provides access to the highest frets without compromising the soundboard, for phrases that reach high up the neck.
On stage, the Fishman Presys preamp, connected to the piezo system, reproduces the signal with a three-band equaliser ready to work with even the most temperamental PA system. The high-gloss natural finish allows the wood grain to shine under the spotlights, and the guitar travels safely in its supplied gig bag, from the tablao to the studio.

Martinez has its roots in Germany, with a history dating back to 1978. The brand took on a new dimension in China in the early 2000s, when it established its operations in Guangzhou. This development combines European heritage with Asian craftsmanship. The company specialises in classical and acoustic guitars, with a range covering a variety of price points. The arrival of Kenny Hill as a technical adviser marked a significant stage in its development and strengthened its ties with the American guitar-making industry. Martinez has a production facility dedicated to guitars. This international identity is a distinctive feature of the brand within the stringed instrument market.
