Martinez - Flamenco MFG-CS EN + Étui

With cypress on the back, spruce on the top, cedar on the neck and ebony on the fingerboard, the Martinez Flamenco MFG-CS EN electro-acoustic nylon-string guitar, complete with a case, combines these woods in a body designed for flamenco playing. Its solid cypress back and sides, 90 mm wide, reinforce the crisp, percussive attack sought after in rasgueados.

The solid spruce top responds equally well to picado and rasgueada, whilst the high-gloss natural finish allows the wood grain to show through. The glued-in cedar neck features an ebony fingerboard, and the 650 mm scale length adheres to traditional Spanish specifications. The Indian rosewood bridge and the 52 mm bone nut provide a clear foundation for the six Savarez strings.

In terms of amplification, the Fishman piezo system, with its active electronics and Fishman preamp, transmits the signal to the PA system whilst preserving the guitar’s acoustic character. The gold-plated Martinez DJ308X-E2 S4 tuning machines and gold-plated hardware add a warm touch to the guitar’s appearance. The case supplied protects the guitar whilst on the move.

Martinez has its roots in Germany, dating back to 1978, and has been based in Guangzhou since 2005, where the American luthier Kenny Hill has further enhanced the company’s craftsmanship. This dual heritage, combined with a well-organised Chinese production process, results in a guitar that pays close attention to the choice of woods, the assembly and the traditions of the Spanish guitar, as seen in the Flamenco series.
