Martinez - Performer MSCC-14 Santos Rosewood + Étui

The Martinez Performer MSCC-14 Santos Rosewood is an electro-acoustic classical guitar with a nylon string, combining a rosewood back with a top tailored to the requirements of the concert size. Part of the Performer series, it features this traditional body shape with a cutaway that facilitates access to the higher frets. Its gloss finish accentuates the wood’s grain, whilst the natural colour retains its warm appearance.

The solid spruce top responds quickly and carries the sound right through to the back. The rosewood back and sides deepen the bass and add a rich mid-range. The 25.59" (650 mm) scale length tensions the nylon strings like a concert classical guitar, and the 1.89" (48 mm) nut spacing keeps the strings apart for arpeggios without neighbouring strings catching on each other. The 4/4 size provides the air volume of a full-size guitar.

The bridge piezo pickup captures the vibration as close to the strings as possible, and the Fishman PSY-301 system transmits it to the PA system whilst preserving the nylon’s attack. The case supplied protects the guitar whilst on the move. Founded in Germany in 1978, Martinez moved to Guangzhou in 2005 and developed its expertise alongside the American luthier Kenny Hill. This collaboration has fostered an approach in which large-scale production remains rooted in traditional Spanish classical guitar-making methods, with a strong emphasis on manual work and the craftsman’s touch.
