Synthesizer
The Teenage Engineering EP-1320 Medieval condenses tavern ambience into a pocket-sized device. This synthesizer/sampler/sequencer puts medieval sounds captured with almost Druidic care at your fingertips. With its 16-bit audio engine, sound library populated with lutes, Gregorian chants, cataclysmic foley and built-in effects, it offers a totally anachronistic playground. Its touch-sensitive controls and mini-jack and USB-C connectors open it up to digital musicians and modern minstrels alike.

Presentation
If you've ever dreamed of remixing a Gregorian chant with hoofbeats and a built-in compressor, Teenage Engineering's EP-1320 Medieval is your new playground.
This sequencer combines 6 stereo voices, 7 send effects, 128 MB of shared memory and an internal microphone to record your best dragon cries live. And thanks to its Pocus system, step-by-step programming becomes almost a ritual dance.
The first thing that surprises you about the EP-1320 Medieval is the serious way it handles absurd sounds. The library includes percussion instruments such as chains, battle toms, bells and coconut clogs (presumably certified). Pressure-sensitive pads bring every sound to life, even that of a noisy peasant.
Teenage Engineering's device didn't just play the sonic wild card, it mapped it with 46.875 kHz resolution. The Medieval is capable of a succession of period samples, unexpected transpositions and punko-Arthurian effects.
It all fits into a 625g case, powered by USB-C or 4 AAA batteries, perfect for improvising by the fire or on stage. Well... at the banquet.
The funniest part? The Medieval also lets you record your own sounds: a bleating goat, your neighbour sneezing, or an ill-tempered pigeon.
Add a bit of delay, trigger a punch-in FX and you've got yourself a soundtrack for a heroic fantasy film on LSD.
Minstrels 2.0 salute you.
