Presentation
The UT FET47 is the result of several years of research by United Studio Technologies, with a clear obsession: to reproduce the sonic imprint of a microphone that has become legendary, without compromising on the quality of the components or the manufacturing process. Each design choice aims for a realistic, thick and coherent reproduction, faithful to the productions that have marked the history of recording.
At the heart of the UT FET47 is a Heiserman HZ Series capsule developed specifically for this model. Inspired by the famous K47 architecture, this matched double backplate capsule offers a balanced response, a stable image and remarkable three-dimensionality. Careful attention to internal damping reduces mechanical vibrations, allowing the capsule to be used without dedicated external suspension.
The output stage is based on a bespoke Cinemag transformer manufactured in the USA. Its humbucker-type nickel-steel laminated core design ensures quiet operation, excellent isolation and full reproduction in the low end of the spectrum, while retaining great clarity in the high end. All the FET electronics are assembled using carefully selected components, including polystyrene capacitors, to preserve dynamic range and fast transients.
Designed for vocal pick-ups, bass drums, brass instruments or guitar amplifiers, the UT FET47 accepts high sound pressure levels without loss of control. The built-in high-pass filter and attenuator allow the microphone to be quickly adapted to both powerful sources and busy environments. Each microphone is assembled in the USA by audio engineers using rigorous craftsmanship, taking the UT FET47 far beyond simple reproduction.
