The Universal Audio Apollo Twin
Despite its small size, the Twin X QUAD offers 10 inputs and 6 outputs which can be expanded by adding other Apollo or UAD2 sound cards. This interface offers the enormous advantage of being able to record and mix through extremely realistic emulations of exceptional studio equipment without any latency, and without risk of overloading your computer's CPU.

SonoVente.com informs you, however, that although the Apollo Twin X interface has a sampling frequency of up to 192 kHz, it can only record with two inputs at 192 kHz. If you use the S/PDIF digital input, this number drops to 96 kHz, or 48 kHz maximum when you choose to use all eight ADAT inputs.
Unison technology allows bi-directional communication between the TWIN X QUAD mic preamps and Unison compatible plug-ins. These plug-ins adjust the circuitry of the preamps in the UA console, changing the behavior so that they match the character of the plug-in.
Plug-ins are widely used for professional-quality recording and mixing by musicians, producers and audio engineers alike.
The Apollo Twin X requires 12V power and connects to your computer via Thunderbolt 3 (cable not included). Apple users need not worry, however, as the Apollo is also backward compatible with Thunderbolt 1 and 2.
However, carefully check the compatibility of your computer (mac or PC): it must be equipped with at least one Thunderbolt 3 port (backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 2 via the Apple adapter not supplied, just like the Thunderbolt 3 cable).
