An incredible collection of carefully programmed hardware synth sounds, separately processed with external processors, multi-sampled and mastered to perfection. Synth Anthology 4 offers the powerful, authentic sounds of 132 hardware synthesizers, processed and enhanced with the best processors on the market. Nothing is missing from this collection, from classic analogue models such as the Oberheim SEM and ARP 2600, to digital monsters such as the Synclavier and FS1R, not forgetting modern but already classic instruments such as the OB-6, Prophet 6 and Minilogue. All the sounds have been carefully programmed and sampled to reproduce the original, unique timbres of these distinctive synthesizers.
No matter how many variables you try to emulate in software, there's still something unique about the sound of a real hardware synthesiser. Whether it's the subtle differences between the different analogue voices or the way filters affect your sound, these instruments retain a very specific character and energy. Synth Anthology 4 reproduces the authentic, uncompromising sound of these machines with all the benefits of a modern software instrument.
While the differences between hardware instruments and emulations may be perceptible, the gap between a direct signal and a mastered recording can be abysmal. With Synth Anthology 3, our sound designers have used the very best hardware processing, including EQs, compressors and effects from Manley, Langevin, Lexicon, Publison, Focusrite, SPL and others. Each patch has been handcrafted and sculpted to perfection to accentuate the natural sounds of the different synthesizers with a mastered finish.
