Presentation
The impressive thing about the Allen & Heath Qu-32 is its sound quality. The AnalogiQ preamps handle signals with precision and warmth, thanks to a padless gain system with 1dB steps. This approach guarantees a transparent response, with no unsightly artefacts. Every detail of your signal is preserved, from the microphones to the output. And because everything passes through low-latency 24-bit converters, the final result retains precious clarity. You can plug in, adjust, record, and enjoy clean, uncompromised sound. It's as if your ear has been fitted with a tailor-made jacket.
To handle complex soundscapes, the Qu-32 features 4 stereo FX engines with effects directly inherited from Allen & Heath's pro touring series. Classic reverbs, delays, flangers and modulators are all ready to go. You can assign the FX returns to dedicated channels, each with its own 4-band EQ, without sacrificing the mono inputs. Managing a live band with lots of vocals? The integrated Automix can control up to 16 microphones simultaneously. And if someone speaks too loudly or too softly, the dynamic priority function does the job on its own. You can even breathe a little.
The built-in Qu-Drive lets you record up to 18 tracks in 48 kHz/24-bit directly to a USB stick or hard drive. No need for a computer. You mix, you capture. What's more, the tracks can be played back directly on the inputs, making it the perfect tool for virtual soundchecking. If you prefer DAW work, the 32x32 audio interface connects you to your favourite software in the blink of an eye. Compatible with HUI or Mackie Control, it synchronises your fader movements with those of your sequencer. You'd almost think it could guess what you're going to do before you do it.
Built in an 18 gauge Zintec steel chassis, Allen & Heath's Qu-32 doesn't pull any punches. Tested to the limit by slightly over-enthusiastic technicians, it takes a beating and moves without flinching. And despite its solidity, it remains silent: no fan disturbs your moments of calm or critical listening. Its passive cooling manages the air without noise. It's the kind of console that will stay with you for years without you ever noticing it's there... except when you're looking for it.

For an optimised installation, consider adding an Allen & Heath AB168 or AR2412 stagebox, and why not an ME personal monitor system to give musicians more autonomy on stage.
The dust cover included with the Qu-32 is much more than a simple dust cover: it also prevents scratches during transport and indiscreet glances at the cables... useful when the sound check gets a little too lively.
