Presentation
This extremely versatile MIDI controller is designed for expressive keyboardists, to say the least. Connoisseurs will already be familiar with the 37-key velocity-sensitive keyboard with aftertouch and 3 octaves. On the far left, you'll find two tactile strips: the Pitch Bend and Mod wheels and a Hold function.
KeyStep Pro Chroma's main asset is its 4 polyphonic sequencing tracks, which offer countless creative possibilities. Each track provides 64 steps for use with 16 voices of polyphony per step, allowing you to program complex and original sequences by incorporating chords. By activating the Sequencer and Drum modes, you can determine whether the sequencer will play monophonic or polyphonic notes. But that's not all!
This Arturia master keyboard lets you record notes in a variety of ways using the sequencer. When the Record button is pressed, all the notes played on the keyboard are automatically recorded on the sequencer and quantised according to the selected time division, if Quantize mode is also activated.
Thanks to Step Programming mode, you can programme your notes directly by pressing one of the 16 track buttons located just above the keyboard. The OLED display shows you which note has been selected.
You can take advantage of the real-time recording mode when the Record and Play buttons are activated. In this mode, each note played will be recorded and will contain information on pitch, velocity, gate length and timing. In short, it will record and play back your musical sequence exactly as you played it. The built-in Super Looper will appeal enormously to live performance enthusiasts.
