D'Angelico - Excel DC Amaretto Burst

The D’Angelico Excel DC Amaretto Burst makes its mark with a woody, mellow and deep attack from the very first note. Its body, measuring 406.4 mm wide by 44.45 mm deep, delivers a rich resonance, balanced by a spruce centre block that neutralises feedback at high volumes. The two F-holes project a natural vibration that fills the room. The high-gloss finish enhances the Amaretto Burst colour, providing the audience with an immediate visual cue.

The body features a laminated flamed maple top, laminated flamed maple sides and a laminated flamed maple back. This rigid construction ensures optimal energy transmission. The three-piece glued neck, measuring 20 mm thick at the 1st fret and 22 mm at the 12th fret, features a C-shape profile. The ebony fingerboard, with a radius of 406.4 mm, features 22 Jescar Nickel Silver frets (size 47/104) for precise left-hand positioning. A double-action truss rod stabilises the alignment under the tension of the D’Angelico Electrozinc 10-46 strings, whilst the 42.86 mm wide Tusq nut guides the string anchor point.

The pair of pickups – a USA Seymour Duncan DA-59 neck pickup and a USA Seymour Duncan SH-4 bridge pickup (4C configuration, gold covers) – capture the dynamics via the four ebony knobs connected to 500k potentiometers. The two volume and two push/pull tone controls expand the sound palette, combined with the 3-position toggle switch. The gold-plated hardware includes a Tune-O-Matic bridge, a Stopbar tailpiece and lockable Grover 509 Super Rotomatic tuners. The standard headstock features 3-ply binding, a mother-of-pearl headstock logo, the Excel Shield series logo and an Aluminium Skyscraper cover near the Headpin Cupola. The body features 5-ply binding, Split Block inlays, side inlays, a 5-ply Solid Black Scalini pickguard and lockable strap buttons. The serial number is inscribed on the back.
