Under your fingers, the double-cutaway solid-body bass made from linden wood feels lighter, allowing the high notes to breathe, whilst its deep cutaways provide effortless access to the top frets. The set-through joint connects the body to the scarf-joined maple neck, which features a slim, satin-finished C-shape profile that glides under the palm, with a progressive thickness ranging from 20 mm at the first fret to 22 mm at the twelfth. The double-action truss rod, concealed beneath an Aluminium Skyscraper cover, keeps the neck stable despite changes in tension and humidity.
The ovangkol fingerboard, edged with three-ply binding and featuring White Pearloid Block inlays, spans a radius of 355.6 mm and twenty-two Medium Vintage Nickel Silver frets, set on a 42.86 mm wide PPS nut. The Grover 109 Super Rotomatic tuning machines, chrome-plated like the rest of the hardware, keep the guitar in tight tuning. The standard headstock features the D’Angelico New York logo and the Premier mother-of-pearl shield, a Cupola headpin and three-ply binding.
Two Seymour Duncan Designed humbuckers – an HB-102 at the neck and an HB-101 at the bridge, both with chrome covers – enrich the tonal character and make a strong impression, controlled by two volume controls, two push/pull tone controls and a three-position selector switch, all fitted with 500k potentiometers. A chrome-plated Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece anchor the vibration, beneath a five-ply F-Hole Cream Pearl pickguard and black backplate, with four Speed Knobs. Electrozinc 10-46 strings, chrome strap buttons, standard mono jack output, gig bag included. Made in Indonesia, serial number engraved on the back.
