Although originally designed for recording bass drums, the new DPA 4055 Kick Drum Mic, which can be placed both inside and outside the bass drum, is perfectly suited to all types of instrument.
Not only does placement inside or outside the kick drum vary the sound, but placing the mic at angles just outside the hole at the back of the kick drum will add nuance to the drum sound. Whatever your preference, the 4055 captures the true sound of a bass drum without altering it.
