The DPA 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL Cello is part of the new generation of DPA instrumental microphones featuring CORE+ technology, offering even more faithful, clear and nuanced reproduction. The pre-polarised condenser capsule, combined with a supercardioid pattern, produces a direct signal of great purity, while reducing unwanted noise from neighbouring instruments. The frequency response extends from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with a slight boost of +2 dB around 10-12 kHz for open, natural reproduction of harmonics. Capable of handling up to 145 dB SPL peak without perceptible distortion, the 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL is perfectly suited to highly resonant instruments such as the cello, in close miking or amplified miking.

The C-CLIP mounting system supplied with this model has been designed specifically for the cello. It attaches to the C and A strings just below the bridge, placing the capsule in the optimum zone between the fingerboard and the bridge. This positioning ensures an ideal balance between the natural resonance of the strings and the sound separation required for concert use. The clip offers a firm, secure hold that's safe for the instrument, thanks to its soft, non-slip contact surfaces.

The mechanical design of the 4099 CORE+ has been revised for greater stability and durability. The 140mm gooseneck is flexible and precise, making it easy to adjust the microphone to suit your playing needs. The internal suspension effectively reduces handling noise and vibration, while IP58 certification protects the unit against dust and humidity.
