The DPA 6388 CORE+ headband microphone brings the voice to the fore with a supercardioid pickup pattern designed for environments where ambient noise and background sound make it difficult to be heard. Its design prioritises natural sound reproduction, stable pickup performance and high feedback resistance, with a discreet black headband that stays securely in place, even when the stage demands full attention and the voice must maintain a consistent presence in the mix. Bearing the DPA hallmark, this microphone also features a PVD finish, IP58 certification and a serviceable design, with MicroLock connectors designed to allow the microphone to be easily integrated into a compatible transmission system.

Presentation
The 6388 CORE+ is a directional headband microphone designed to ensure clear speech intelligibility in challenging environments, with a supercardioid polar pattern that minimises off-axis sound and promotes a high pre-feedback gain and effective isolation.
Its usable frequency range of 100 Hz to 18 kHz, measured at 3 cm from the source, ensures balanced speech reproduction, with a 1 dB boost at 14 kHz that adds a subtle presence without weighing down the overall timbre.
CORE+ technology significantly reduces distortion across the entire dynamic range, ensuring voice intelligibility remains consistent as the level varies, and the off-axis capsule makes the pickup less sensitive to minor positioning variations, ensuring more consistent results across users and set-ups, with enhanced stability when positioning varies slightly depending on fitting conditions.
The Act earpiece offers great freedom of adjustment with rounded ear contours, more secure clips and a cable outlet angled downwards at the junction with the ear hook, combining secure fit, comfort and neat cable management. The black PVD finish minimises visual reflections, whilst the transparent clips remain discreet on the body when the microphone needs to be as inconspicuous as possible on stage or in front of the camera, offering a simple and understated look.
IP58 certification enhances resistance to moisture and dust, whilst the repairable design promotes a long and consistent service life, making this model an attractive choice for maintenance in a regularly used fleet. The zipped case features an identification window, an elasticated strap and a transparent pocket to simplify storage, locating connectors and preparing equipment, with quick identification of available configurations and a storage system that avoids treasure-hunt-style searches when multiple models are stored efficiently.
