With its ceramic magnets and steel studs, it softens the top end of the spectrum while boosting the bass, for a rounder, more comfortable sound. It's a microphone that knows how to stay in place, even when the mix is busy.
It's particularly suited to finger-style playing, subtle arrangements or contexts where the bass needs to support without dominating. With an output voltage that can climb to 4.5 V in slap, it remains responsive and dynamic when you decide to go for it.
Its Soapbar 40 Series format is designed for 5-string basses, and installation is simplified by EMG's Solderless system. The sound is clean, precise and breathless, with just the right amount of natural compression.
