EMG - 58 Humbucker Pickup Ivory

The EMG 58 is a dual-coil active microphone with a warm, balanced sound signature. It has been designed to provide an alternative to the overly aggressive or modern sounds of traditional active humbuckers. Inspired by the P-90 pickups, it offers a round grain, a strong midrange and a smooth attack, without lacking dynamics. It's an interesting choice for guitarists who want an active pickup with a more organic character.

Under the bonnet, we find an Alnico magnet accompanied by two steel bars, a combination that favours a natural response and fluid sustain. Its output is high, 3 V in note, 4.5 V in strumming, making it easy to saturate a tube amp without straining. It's naturally at home in the bridge position, but can also be mounted on the neck if required.

The 58 comes with the EMG solderless wiring system, which is easy to install and requires no soldering. All the necessary components are supplied in the kit. It runs on a 9V battery with a battery life of around 600 hours. The microphone remains completely silent during operation, even at high volume, thanks to an extremely low noise level of -100 dB at 60 Hz.
