David Ellefson took up bass at the age of 11 and moved to Los Angeles in 1983, where he co-founded Megadeth with Dave Mustaine. He quickly became one of metal's most acclaimed bassists for his pick playing and sense of groove. After his temporary departure from the band in 2002, he explored other projects, such as Temple of Brutality and Metal Allegiance. He also launched his own brand of coffee, Ellefson Coffee Co. Active in music education, he organises masterclasses around the world. His influence extends beyond the metal scene, thanks to his artistic and entrepreneurial commitment.
