The David Ellefson EMG pickup set offers an original combination of two active pickups designed for good clarity. The bridge pickup, with its dual ceramic windings, delivers a high, balanced output. The neck pickup combines ceramic and steel for extended response across the entire sound range. Powerful magnets maximise precision and dynamics. This configuration is well suited to styles such as heavy metal.
The absence of background noise underlines the quality of the active EMG technology. The user benefits from a stable signal thanks to optimised impedance and completely solderless cabling, simplifying installation and avoiding ground wires on the strings. Compatible with a standard 9V or 18V power supply, this set supports extended battery life without compromising power.
The on-board electronics allow the use of active EMG controls and the easy integration of a three-position selector. The system includes all the necessary cables, fixing screws and insulating foam for the battery. The kit, designed by Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, guarantees a modern sound response. David Ellefson is an American bassist born in Minnesota in 1964, best known as a founding member of thrash metal band Megadeth. His precise, powerful playing has left its mark on the history of metal, notably on cult albums such as Peace Sells... but Who's Buying? and Rust in Peace. Alongside Megadeth, he has worked with Soulfly, F5 and other projects. An entrepreneur, he founded his own label EMP and has published several books. A business graduate and ordained minister, Ellefson is a respected figure as much for his musical career as for his atypical background.
