Do you have a P90-equipped guitar but want a tighter, more aggressive sound? The EMG P81 was designed for just that. It has the same internal structure as the famous EMG 81 - ceramic magnet, tight coils, active electronics - but in a P90 format, ready to adapt to more atypical configurations. The result: a precise sound with brilliant highs that remains fluid in the attack and maintains its sustain, even with a lot of gain.
In bridge position, it's ideal for cutting-edge riffs, solos that need to cut through the mix, and all styles where dynamics need to be kept under control. Ideal for metalheads who don't want to give up their vintage or semi-hollow guitars, or simply want to test new sonic territory. Compared with simple, classic P90s, the P81 provides much more bite and real resistance to background noise.
And thanks to the solderless cabling system, changing microphones is child's play. Combined with a P85 or a P60 on the neck, it makes a great duo, both on stage and in the studio!
