Do you like the P90 format but are looking for a quieter, more defined microphone that doesn't overdo the modern sounds? Then the EMG P92HZ is for you. Inspired by the H4A, it offers a passive humbucker housed in a P90 format, with Alnico V magnets and vintage coils. It delivers a very present sound, clear without being aggressive.
In the field, it's an ideal mic for alternative rock, garage, modern pop or even certain ambient styles, thanks to its clarity and absence of noise. It retains an organic grain while handling effects pedals very well. When clean, it remains precise without becoming cold. When crunched, it maintains a good, clean contour.
Combined with a P91 bridge pickup, it provides an interesting contrast between vintage roundness and a sharper attack. This pickup offers more nuances and possibilities - such as varying styles, playing techniques and the use of effects - without altering the natural response and feel of your guitar.
