The EMG RA-5 Pickguard Maverick Five is a set of active pickups designed for Stratocaster guitars. It's equipped with three single pickups with distinct voicing, for a balanced sound in all positions. Inspired by the sounds of Californian surf rock, it delivers a clear, precise sound, with well-defined attacks and no extraneous noise. The wiring remains classic, with two active tones on the neck and middle pickups and a 5-position selector switch. The whole unit is mounted on a black 11-hole pre-wired pickguard, ready to install without soldering.

The EMG RA-5 Pickguard Maverick Five Set is where vintage sound meets modern technology. Each pickup is specially tuned for its position - neck, middle and bridge - to produce a balanced tonal palette, with brilliant highs and a dynamic punch that makes every note clear and precise. The configuration is in keeping with the Strat tradition, with a tone control on the neck and middle pickups, and a 5-way selector switch that lets you explore every possible nuance.
Thanks to EMG's Retro Active technology, these pickups deliver a vintage sound without the usual drawbacks: no buzz or hiss, even at high volume. Their low power consumption means that a single 9V battery is enough to power the pickups for a long time, so you can play without interruption.
