EMG's REV Black pickup set lives up to its name. It wakes up every passive guitar with an organic, precise and nuanced grain.
The two humbuckers are fitted with selected Alnico 2 magnets. The bridge develops a biting response, while the neck remains fluid and warm. There's no need for batteries - everything is passively wired. Each pickup retains its clarity, even under gain. DC inductance and resistance remain balanced. The data is precise and what counts here is the sound: full, controlled and expressive.
When it comes to installation, EMG simplifies everything. No soldering iron required. IDC connectors, cables, screws, diagrams: everything is waiting in the box. You can go up to single or double volume/tone. It integrates well with active EMG wiring if required. The red wire feeds nothing, so it's 100% passive. There's even a dedicated ground for the strings.
