Epiphone - Mike Dirnt Grabber G-3 Bass Silverburst + Étui
The Epiphone Mike Dirnt Grabber G-3 Bass revisits an iconic bass used by the Green Day bassist, faithful to the spirit of the Grabber that marked the Dookie album. Its maple body, 34" neck and ebony fingerboard provide precision, clean attack and playing comfort. The three Gibson USA G-3 pickups and their special configuration offer a range of powerful, buzz-free sound textures. Supplied in a hard case, this bass is equally at home in the studio or on stage.
Presentation
The double-cutaway Grabber body is made from maple, a wood renowned for its clarity and responsiveness. This choice provides a clean attack and a precise sound that blends easily into a band. The three-piece maple neck, combined with a 34-inch tuning fork, provides comfortable string tension and good stability. The ebony fingerboard, fitted with 20 jumbo mid-range frets and mother-of-pearl markers, provides a dense, smooth surface for precise note articulation, ideal for fast or strong bass lines.
The sonic personality of this bass rests on its three Gibson USA G-3 pickups, made in Nashville. Their special wiring creates a buck-and-a-half configuration. Depending on the position of the selector switch, the pickups work in pairs or together, generating thick, dynamic and quiet tones with no extraneous hum. This sound palette is perfect for punk rock, alternative rock and styles where the bass needs to remain present and defined.
The Leo Quan Badass II bridge, combined with through-string construction, delivers a clean attack and generous sustain. The instrument remains stable, precise and responsive under the fingers, whether in rehearsal, in the studio or on stage. Supplied with a hard case, this Grabber G-3 is easy to take on the road and protects the instrument at the same time.
