Epiphone - Thunderbird 64 Brunswick Blue Sparkle + Housse
What if your bass line took on a whole new dimension? The Epiphone Thunderbird '64 Brunswick Blue Sparkle boasts a deep, responsive low end thanks to its #760 ProBucker humbuckers and neck-through mahogany and walnut construction, ideal for rock, hard rock, blues or punk. With its 34" tuning fork and premium case included, this bass is just as at home in rehearsals as it is on stage.
Presentation
The base of the instrument rests on a neck-through construction of 9-ply mahogany and walnut. This neck-through construction forms the backbone of the bass and extends into the wings of the mahogany body. This choice of construction ensures direct vibration transmission and natural sustain. The 1960's Rounded Bass profile remains comfortable in the hand, with a familiar feel that facilitates long bass lines or more straightforward attacks. The laurel fingerboard accommodates 20 frets and extends over a 34-inch (863 mm) long scale, a standard appreciated for its bass definition.
In terms of sound, the Thunderbird '64 uses two Epiphone ProBucker #760 humbuckers: the pickup positioned close to the bridge provides precision and a clean attack, while the one positioned towards the neck produces a rounder, deeper bass. The two independent volumes and overall tone, wired with CTS potentiometers, make it easy to adjust the sound character to suit the playing context.
The hardware remains true to the model's vintage aesthetic. The Historic Bass Tune-O-Matic bridge, combined with the Claw Tailpiece, ensures good string hold and stable intonation. Open tuners with Clover wings reinforce the classic style of the Thunderbird headstock. Supplied with a premium Epiphone case, this bass is ready for rehearsals, concerts or recording sessions.
