ESI Audiotechnik's UGM192 has been designed as an extremely mobile recording solution for musicians and creators who want to capture their ideas without installing a full setup. Its compact size and USB audio class compliant operation allow it to be used with both a computer and a wide range of compatible mobile devices, making it easy to take with you and deploy quickly.

The interface features a dedicated 6.35mm Hi-Z instrument input for direct connection of a guitar or bass, plus a professional microphone preamp on a balanced TRS connector. This microphone input supports +48 V phantom power, allowing the use of both dynamic and condenser microphones. This simple configuration makes it possible to record an instrument source and a microphone source with a minimum of cabling.

Analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue conversion operates at up to 24-bit/192kHz, with a high dynamic range, guaranteeing detailed, clean reproduction. At the rear, a stereo output on a TRS jack allows headphones or a listening system to be connected for real-time monitoring of the input signals, with no perceptible latency. This approach is particularly useful for live gaming, working on amp simulations or recording vocals on the move.

The UGM192 is powered directly by the USB bus, but can also operate with an optional external power supply via its micro-USB connector. This means it can be used in totally mobile contexts, for example with an external battery, without depending on the power supply of the host device.
