The ASM Hydrasynth Explorer is a modern, powerful synthesizer offering exceptional sonic flexibility and practical portability thanks to its battery operation (8 AA batteries, not included). With 37 velocity-sensitive medium-sized keys and aftertouch, this synthesizer is designed for musicians looking for expressive, dynamic performances.
Featuring 8 monotimbral voices and a polyphonic aftertouch, the Hydrasynth Explorer allows deep and varied sonic exploration. Its built-in arpeggiator includes advanced functions such as Ratchet, Chance, Gate Time and Swing, with 8 different modes for creating complex, inspiring rhythmic patterns.
At the heart of Hydrasynth Explorer are three powerful oscillators, each offering 219 single-cycle waveforms. WaveScan parameters let you modulate waveforms via wavetables, while Wavelist mode lets you mix up to 8 different wavetables. Each oscillator can use up to 8 user Wavelists, offering a virtually infinite palette of sounds.
The synthesiser is equipped with two filters that can be configured in series or parallel. The first filter offers 11 different models, including 12 and 24 dB Ladder filters, Vintage Ladder filters, HP, LP and Vocal filters. The second filter, SEM-style, offers continuous sweep between high-pass, band-pass and low-pass filters, with a slope of 12dB per octave.
The ASM Hydrasynth Explorer also features an advanced modulation matrix, with 32 user modulation routings, 5 DAHDSR envelopes and 5 LFOs. The LFOs include delay, fade-in, three trigger modes, smoothing, start-up phase and a one-shot mode, allowing extremely detailed and complex modulations.
With 5 banks of 128 patches each, including 256 factory patches, Hydrasynth Explorer offers a huge library of ready-to-use sounds. CV-Gate inputs and outputs, as well as MIDI In/Out/Thru and USB MIDI In/Out sockets, ensure perfect integration into any studio setup or live performance. What's more, the synthesiser supports all standard CV/GATE standards and has a clock input and output.
The Pre/Post effects allow unique sound processing, adding an extra dimension to your creations. The OLED display and 8 high-resolution encoders with LED rings make it easy to navigate and control parameters.
The PC/MAC-based Patch Manager plug-in makes it easy to manage and save your patches, ensuring optimum organisation of your sound library.
