J.Leiva - Omeya Cubo Matted Lacquered

The J. Leiva Omeya Cubo Matted Lacquered Cajon was born of a precise ambition: to develop a Cajon capable of producing particularly deep and powerful bass while retaining a format close to traditional dimensions. To achieve this goal, J. Leiva devoted several years to testing in real-life situations, both on stage and in the studio.

At the heart of this model is the P.S.S. (Paneled Structural Skeleton) system, a design developed by the brand and based on an internal walnut structure covered with 12mm Russian birch panels. This architecture lends considerable rigidity to the whole and contributes to the clarity of the sound. Bass frequencies gain in presence, while high frequencies retain good definition, contributing to a balance that is particularly interesting in everyday playing.

The Omeya Cubo also stands out for its On-Off-Xpand system. This external bass expander can be installed or removed according to the musician's needs. Attached using eight high-power neodymium magnets, it acts directly on bass projection, providing extra depth when required by the musical context.

The 3.2 mm laminated Russian birch soundboard is based on the Built-In system and the D.T.S. with six externally adjustable strings. This configuration provides a sensitive response to the nuances of playing while retaining the power that characterises this model.
