J.Leiva - Omeya Evo lacquered

The J. Leiva Omeya Evo Lacquered Cajon is designed for percussionists who like to work the nuances and build a groove full of relief. Heir to the Omeya series, this model has been completely redesigned to meet the expectations of ever more demanding musicians, both live and recorded.

The first thing that strikes you about this Cajon is the sense of space and depth it creates. In an acoustic trio, a guitar-voice duo or a larger ensemble, the bass naturally takes its place without invading the rest of the spectrum. The low strokes support the rhythm, while the drier attacks remain clearly defined.

This sonic personality is based on a great deal of work carried out inside the instrument. J. Leiva has developed this series around specific research into low frequencies, including two independent rear outputs designed to optimise the configuration and diffusion of the low frequencies. The result is a Cajon capable of developing significant pressure at the bottom end of the spectrum while limiting undesirable resonances.

Its 3.2mm Russian birch top retains excellent sensitivity under the hands, while the D.T.S. system with six externally adjustable V-strings makes it easy to adjust the character of the timbre to suit the piece or ambience required.
