The Opsix mk II is a versatile digital synthesizer that combines 6 different types of synthesis:
- Subtractive synthesis: Remove parts of the sound to obtain the desired sound. The opsix mk II uses up to six envelopes and multi-model filters to produce a wide range of modern and classic analogue sounds.
- Semi-modular synthesis: rearrange the signal paths to modify the sound. A trip to the Algorithm section will radically redefine the sound by changing the way the signal routing between operators works together, with no patch cables required.
- Analogue synthesis (modelling): Analogue-style controls and numerous stackable waveforms let you go from digital to analogue sound in no time. Enjoy deep bass, clean leads, thick pad sounds, fuzzy brass tones and more.
- Waveform synthesis: Add intentional distortion to waveforms to get aggressive harmonics that are either harmonic or inharmonic. This will help you achieve gritty, biting tones dripping with character.
- Additive synthesis: Stacking waveforms and mixing their harmonics is the key to a wide range of harmonious, dissonant and strained sounds. With six operators available, the full FM experience is possible, including the ability to go back in time to classic sounds you've heard throughout the history of recording.
- Classic FM synthesis: Last but not least, opsix's highly flexible and powerful architecture starts with a six-operator FM. As a result, it easily delivers the signature sounds you're sure to have heard on thousands of hits from the 80s to today, with far more polyphony than other standalone FM synthesizers available today.
