The North American alder body generates a balanced sound response, with a natural presence in the lower midrange and a clean attack. The roasted hard maple neck is resistant to climatic variations and develops a surface in the hand that develops favourably over time. The fingerboard, also in roasted maple, benefits from the Edgeless™ treatment, which rounds the edges of the fingerboard and makes playing in the upright position more comfortable over time.

Stainless steel frets provide far greater longevity than traditional nickel alloy frets, with a smoother glide under the fingers. The 20 mm spacing at the Modern-S bridge facilitates slap playing and fingerstyle precision on four strings.
