Classical Guitar 4/4

Martinez Master Munich S EN + Case The Martinez Master Munich S EN takes its name from a city, with a classic silhouette where the solid European spruce responds to the slightest touch. A mahogany neck, bone nut and Martinez wooden case come together to form an instrument designed with every note in mind.

ARTICLE N° 126150
The Martinez Master Munich S EN takes its name from the shape that defines it: a classic silhouette in which every curve serves a purpose. The top, crafted from solid European spruce, captures the vibration of the strings and reproduces it with a clarity that evokes raw wood rather than factory-finished timber. A French finish coats the whole instrument with a thin, almost invisible layer, allowing the wood’s grain to breathe beneath your fingers.

The Indian rosewood binding, featured on both the top and back, outlines the body with a clean line. Maple and ebony purfling accentuates the top, whilst a second strip of maple alone runs along the back and sides. The soundhole rosette, crafted from a mosaic of inlaid natural wood, frames the opening like a workshop signature. The mahogany neck, fitted using the Spanish joint, features a rosewood fingerboard with twenty frets – twelve of which are open to the body – and a mother-of-pearl marker at the 7th fret. The 52 mm bone nut and the two-way adjustable truss rod complete a construction designed to stand the test of time. Beneath the top, the fan-shaped Spanish bracing provides structural support to the body using wood alone.

The gold-plated Martinez tuning machines maintain the tuning; the instrument is fitted with Martinez strings straight from the workshop, and a Martinez wooden case accompanies it wherever it goes.

Martinez has an unusual international history within the world of classical guitar. The brand was established in Germany in 1978, after which its manufacturing operations took on a new dimension in China. In 2005, the opening of a facility in Guangzhou gave rise to an organisation bringing together Chinese, German and American expertise. Alex Wang, Wolfgang Jellinghaus and the American luthier Kenny Hill were among the key figures involved in this phase. This organisation brought European methods into alignment with Chinese industrial practices. Since then, Martinez has developed a range centred on the classical guitar, with various levels of craftsmanship and models designed for both study and concert performance.
