The TOD-9 takes Maxon's classic OD-9 circuit and adds a tube gain stage to create an ultra-compact tube overdrive machine. With the Tube knob at zero, the TOD sounds exactly like an OD-9. Engage this control and experience the unmistakable magic of tube sound: a big, thick, natural tone and the characteristic tube sag that makes the main harmonics sing. With the Drive button depressed, the tube will add warmth and dimension to your sound. With the Drive knob up, you get all that extra definition and increased saturation as the tube drives the clipping stage of the pedal.
