The Neumann KH 310 II monitor speakers are a 3-way reference system designed for the precise monitoring of audio productions. Their active design ensures consistent sound reproduction for projects where tonal balance, detail and dynamics must remain clearly discernible.

In a recording or music production studio, this system facilitates the evaluation of arrangements with a stable and detailed sound reproduction. It is also suitable for mixing, audio editing and mastering, where precise reproduction helps to distinguish between choices of timbre, dynamics and spatiality with greater confidence.

Its scope extends to post-production, broadcast and immersive audio environments, where consistent sound reproduction is of paramount importance. The 3-way design separates the different regions of the spectrum to maintain a clear reproduction of bass, midrange and treble, with a highly controlled overall sound. This leaves your ears in control, without any interference.

At close range, the system maintains a precise soundstage, facilitating the monitoring of detail and balance. The frequency response ranges from 29 Hz to 21 kHz at ±6 dB, with linearity of ±0.6 dB between 100 Hz and 10 kHz. These figures reflect a design focused on fidelity, particularly suited to production decisions where excessive colouration would make the programme difficult to follow.

The headroom ensures that the sound remains clear and easy to follow when the programme becomes denser or more energetic. The maximum sound pressure level reaches 121.4 dB SPL in half-space, whilst the amplification system distributes 300 W to the bass, 160 W to the midrange and 125 W to the treble. This tri-amplified architecture supports a structured sound reproduction, with sufficient resources to keep the different registers distinct as the music gains in intensity.

Digital processing adds another dimension to system control, with a DSP architecture utilising 32-bit audio and 64-bit double-precision calculations. Compatibility with the MA 1 system enables automatic room calibration to adapt the sound reproduction to the acoustic characteristics of the listening environment. Linear-phase FIR phase correction is also applied from 60 Hz to 18 kHz, which enhances the signal’s temporal coherence and the clarity of transients.

For installations requiring advanced integration, the connectivity options include a balanced XLR analogue input and an AES3id digital link via 75 Ω BNC. Control can be carried out locally or via the network, with a delay setting of up to 120 ms and a resolution of 20.8 µs, equivalent to 0.71 mm. This flexibility facilitates integration into complex monitoring systems, particularly where several speakers need to maintain a consistent temporal alignment.
