Neumann - TLM 102 Studio Set
The Neumann TLM102 Studio Set comprises a TLM102 microphone and an EA 4 elastic suspension. With a cardioid pick-up pattern, a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and an integrated pop filter, it delivers clear, accurate recordings. Capable of handling high SPL levels up to 144 dB, it operates on 48 V phantom power and connects via a 3-pin male XLR.
Presentation
The TLM102 features a cardioid pick-up pattern, ideal for isolating the main sound source while minimising the capture of ambient noise. It features a pop filter built into the capsule, effectively reducing unwanted noise such as plosives. The suspension integrated into the body of the microphone helps to reduce vibrations, guaranteeing a stable, interference-free sound performance.
The microphone uses a pressure gradient transducer, offering an extended frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. This allows a wide range of frequencies to be captured, from deep bass to crystal-clear treble, ensuring faithful sound reproduction. With a sensitivity of 11 mV/Pa at 1 kHz and a load of 1 kOhm, the TLM102 is capable of capturing even the most subtle nuances of vocal and instrumental performances.
The nominal output impedance of 50 Ohms and recommended load impedance of 1 kOhm ensure optimum compatibility with most studio equipment. Extremely low noise levels, with input noise of 21 dB CCIR and 12 dB A-weighted, ensure clean, interference-free recordings. The impressive signal-to-noise ratio of 73 dB (CCIR) and 82 dB-A (weighted) further underlines the exceptional quality of this microphone.
The TLM102 can handle high sound pressure levels up to 144 dB SPL with a total harmonic distortion of 0.5%, making it suitable for recording intense sound sources without distortion. The maximum output level is +13 dBU, and the dynamic range of the built-in microphone preamp is 132 dB A-weighted, offering exceptional dynamic range.
Operating on standard 48 V ± 4 V phantom power and consuming just 3.5 mA, the TLM102 is compatible with a wide range of preamps and audio interfaces. The 3-pin male XLR output connector ensures a solid and reliable connection to your studio equipment.
