The NovaStar NS60 10 m light sensor measures the light levels around an LED screen, enabling the control system to automatically adjust its brightness level. Its measurement range of 0 to 65,535 lux enables it to monitor both subtle changes in ambient light and situations of high brightness, whilst its 10-metre cable makes it easy to position the sensor exactly where the measurement is most relevant. Compatible with a range of NovaStar equipment, it can be used on both indoor LED installations and screens subject to variations in outdoor light.

Presentation
The NovaStar NS60 10 m is a light sensor that provides LED display systems with a direct measurement of ambient light levels, enabling them to adjust their brightness levels according to the actual conditions around the screen. The sensor measures a range from 0 to 65,535 lux and transmits the necessary information to the NovaStar system responsible for managing the panel’s brightness.
The version fitted with a 10-metre cable offers greater freedom of placement than a sensor installed as close as possible to the controller. The measurement point can therefore be positioned at a location representative of the light received by the screen, particularly when the sensor needs to be situated away from a technical rack, a transmitter card or a control unit. The total length can be extended up to 100 metres depending on the installation and the system’s specifications.
The NS60 can be connected directly to various NovaStar devices, including the MSD300, MCTRL300 and MCTRL600 broadcast cards, the MFN300 multifunction solutions and the Taurus range. It operates on 5 V DC and does not require a dedicated external power supply, which minimises the amount of cabling needed around the sensor.
Its IP65 protection rating allows it to be used both indoors and outdoors, with an operating range suited to temperature variations. The housing combines metal, plastic and rubber and can be mounted on a structure or near the screen to ensure a consistent measurement of ambient illuminance.
