The RME AI25 8XPRO 3m multi-pair cable converts a multi-channel analogue audio connection in D-Sub 25 format into eight separate female XLR connectors, with each channel directly accessible for connecting a source or piece of audio equipment. This configuration is particularly well-suited to RME interfaces and converters featuring a D-Sub analogue breakout, when connecting to a mixing desk, a preamplifier, a patch panel or multiple XLR sources.
Presentation
This configuration is particularly useful for RME audio converters and interfaces that use a D-Sub 25 connection for their analogue links. The multi-pair cable can thus be used to connect to a mixing desk, a patch panel, preamplifiers or other audio equipment with XLR connectors, without having to set up each connection separately along the entire length of the route.
The eight female XLR sockets are individually numbered to ensure a clear correspondence between the different channels of the cable and the channels of the D-Sub connector. This labelling is particularly useful when setting up a control room or studio rack, but also when subsequent work is required on the cabling to modify a configuration or identify a channel.
At 3 metres in length, the RME AI25 8XPRO 3m provides sufficient length to arrange equipment without restricting it to being placed directly side by side. The cable can follow the route of a rack or connect two nearby connection points whilst retaining a single, shared 14 mm diameter sheath.
