Static Microphone
The sE Electronics X1 S is a cardioid condenser microphone with a large diaphragm, designed to provide accurate pick-up with low noise and good handling of high levels.

Presentation
The sE Electronics X1 S builds on the X1 with a number of improvements to the capsule and electronics. It uses a hand-built 1" condenser capsule, combined with a circuit optimised to reduce background noise and improve dynamic range.
The result is balanced across the entire spectrum, with well-defined mids and controlled highs. This signature allows it to be used on vocals, but also on instrumental sources such as acoustic guitar, piano or drum overheads. The mic maintains good readability even in dense mixes.
Its ability to handle high SPL levels means it can be placed on close or powerful sources. The -10 and -20 dB pads make it easy to adapt to these situations by limiting the risk of saturation. The switchable low-cut filter at 80 or 160 Hz reduces undesirable low frequencies, such as structure-borne vibration or proximity effect.
In a home studio environment, the X1 S can be used as the main microphone for vocals or as a versatile solution for different sources. It integrates easily into a standard phantom-powered recording chain.
The format and construction remain simple, with a metal chassis and conventional XLR connectors, making it easy to integrate into any configuration.
