Static Microphone

The Shure KSM32C SM is a large-diaphragm microphone that delivers fine detail and reassuring sonic stability for your most sensitive recordings. In this version designed by Shure, every nuance unfolds with a controlled softness that enhances your timbre without harshening it. The model also benefits from an anti-shock suspension that effectively limits unwanted vibrations, giving you the chance to work more freely, even when the studio atmosphere was moving slightly around you during some past sessions.

Under the bonnet, the KSM32C's 19mm capsule uses a Mylar diaphragm that reacts with great flexibility to pressure variations, because it has been calibrated to maintain a stable balance in the low frequencies, even when you rapidly change the dynamics of your voice or an instrument.

The cardioid polar pattern carefully aligned by the Shure teams acts as an effective buffer against the lateral elements of the acoustic environment. It reduces secondary sounds by around 37dB at 180°, often allowing you to concentrate on the main source, even when editing a take in a busy space where several instruments were vibrating simultaneously.

Another interesting point is its particularly smooth, almost linear response, which lets you shape your equalisation with great fluidity. The KSM32C SM doesn't inflate any zone unnecessarily, so you don't have to make the multiple corrections you used to have to make on your processor or in your audio software. This stability has even encouraged you to try very close miking of an upright piano or a delicate folk guitar.

The versatility of this Shure microphone is
It's just as versatile for vocals as it is for electric or acoustic instruments. You can adjust the distance to work with a softer or more assertive grain, and each repositioning helps you explore a different sonic relief. This flexibility already gave you a pleasant degree of freedom when you were preparing several tracks in the same room with very contrasting sources.

Its all-metal structure adds a welcome robustness, especially as the aluminium body makes the whole thing lighter and simplifies placement on a boom. This means you can move the mic around without forcing it, even when you need to test unusual angles to pick up the resonance of a snare drum or the vibration of a guitar amp. The machined grille effectively protects the gold-plated capsule from shocks that could cause major disturbance.
