Presentation
For mobile production, podcasting or streaming, reliable conversion of an XLR microphone signal to USB is critical. The Shure MVX2U Gen 2 addresses this need with a compact, single-channel digital interface that can instantly transform any XLR microphone into a record-ready USB solution.
Its small size means it can be integrated directly onto the microphone or in-line into the cable, greatly reducing the space required on a desktop or mobile setup.
The on-board electronics offer up to +60dB of clean gain, enough to power low-sensitivity dynamic microphones while maintaining a comfortable reserve for condenser models thanks to the +48V phantom power supply.
The conversion works in 16 or 24 bits at 48 kHz, with a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, which easily covers voice, podcast, streaming or light recording applications. Built-in 3.5 mm headphone monitoring provides direct control without latency, which is essential for voice work.
One of the major advantages of the MVX2U Gen2 is its integrated MOTIV DSP processing. The Auto Level mode automatically adjusts gain in real time to maintain a stable level, while the Real-Time Denoiser reduces unwanted background noise.
The Digital Popper Stopper attenuates plosives in speech. These treatments can be configured via the MOTIV Mix, MOTIV Audio or MOTIV Video applications, with settings stored in the interface itself.
Powered directly by USB-C, with no need for an external power supply, the MVX2U Gen 2 integrates easily into a hybrid computer, tablet or smartphone environment.
For content creators, podcasters or musicians working in a light configuration, this interface is a clean, compact and immediately operational solution.

What sets it apart from the first-generation MVX2U :
The Shure MVX2U Gen 2 takes the concept of the first MVX2U a step further in terms of signal processing and flexibility of use. This second generation incorporates an enhanced MOTIV DSP with Auto Level, Real-Time Denoiser and Digital Popper Stopper, making it easier to achieve stable levels and cleaner vocals without complex adjustments. Management via MOTIV applications is also more comprehensive, with more scope for customisation. In practice, Gen 2 offers a more automated, consistent experience that is better suited to today's uses, such as streaming, podcasting and mobile content creation.
