Presentation
As for the microphone preamp, Solid State Logic has integrated clean amplification with very low noise levels. You can plug in a dynamic or condenser mic, activate the +48V and adjust the high-pass filter for clean pick-ups.
The built-in Legacy 4K function adds subtle harmonics and high-frequency presence. You can enhance your takes with colouring inspired by analogue consoles, useful for adding depth without additional software processing.
For instruments, SSL 1's DI / Line input handles guitar, bass or synths with a pleasant dynamic response. Each signal retains good definition, making direct recording relevant even without an amp or external processing.
The 32-bit converters combined with a frequency range of up to 192 kHz ensure detailed reproduction. You can hear fine nuances and sharper attacks, which helps you work out precise mixes in your favourite audio software.
On the listening side, the monitor outputs and headphone output provide reliable monitoring. The Mix knob makes it easy to adjust the ratio between direct signal and computer playback, keeping recordings comfortable.
