The Triton Audio BigAmp Piezo adapts perfectly to piezo transducers thanks to its very high input impedance and balanced XLR output. The result is a more natural signal, with greater dynamics and precision.

Presentation
When it comes to piezo sensors, the question of impedance becomes central. Many conventional instrument inputs can't handle this type of signal properly, which often results in a narrow soundstage that lacks dynamics and clarity. The BigAmp Piezo has been developed precisely to address this problem, with a technical approach targeted at this type of transducer.
Its special feature is an input impedance of 7.5 MΩ, much higher than that of standard preamps. This value allows the piezo transducer to operate under better electrical conditions, while preserving its transients and harmonic richness. The result is a signal that is more open, less filtered, and much more faithful to the source.
The internal circuit is based on a Class A FET architecture, chosen for its ability to maintain a low noise level while respecting the character of the signal. The deliberately moderate gain of +3dB leaves plenty of headroom, preventing any unintentional compression and allowing dynamic sources to be handled without saturation.
The compact format also plays an important role in overall efficiency. Placed as close as possible to the transducer, the BigAmp Piezo limits the length of unsuitable cable, thus reducing the capacitive effects responsible for high-frequency losses. This proximity contributes directly to the quality of the recovered signal.
In terms of connectors, the 6.35 mm jack input is directly connected to the instrument, while the balanced XLR output provides a clean link to a console, interface or broadcast system. Power is supplied via a 48 V phantom power supply, simplifying integration without the need for batteries.
