The Rotary effect (downloadable licence) from UVI recreates the character of a rotating loudspeaker with precise control over the horn, drum and microphone placement. This emulation allows you to shape the movement and spread of the sound using settings for speed, directivity, reflections and stereo field, making it ideal for processing keyboards, guitars, vocals and other sources.

To recreate the characteristic sound of a rotating loudspeaker, UVI’s Rotary (downloadable licence) offers a detailed emulation with modern controls. The horn and drum have independent settings, whilst the microphone placement can be adjusted directly using drag-and-drop.

The Width, Distance and Skew controls allow you to quickly modify the stereo image and listening position. You can also adjust the filters, cabinet size, horn radius and reflections to tailor the sound to your mix.

The acceleration and deceleration of the horn and drum can be adjusted separately, opening up the possibility of creating different Doppler effects. Rotary also features early reflections rendered via 3D ray-tracing, as well as a Drive control for the amplifier. Together, these features offer a flexible way to emulate a rotating loudspeaker without the constraints associated with physically setting up a cabinet and microphones.
