Avantone Pro - CK-1

The Avantone CK-1 is a small-diaphragm condenser microphone with neat, quiet FET electronics, designed as an affordable solution without compromising on sound quality. It is a natural choice for both studio and PA applications, where precision, rapid response and neutrality are essential.

Its design allows detailed reproduction of transients, making it particularly suitable for drum overheads, string instruments, upright piano, woodwinds and ambient miking. The CK-1 is equally at home in mono or stereo pairs, thanks to its excellent phase coherence and extended response at the top end of the spectrum.

One of its major assets is the provision of three interchangeable capsules - cardioid, hypercardioid and omnidirectional - enabling the directional pattern to be quickly adapted to the recording context without having to change microphones. This modularity makes it ideal for use in mobile configurations or on soundstages where flexibility is paramount.

The microphone also incorporates a high-pass filter at 80 Hz to limit unwanted structure-borne noise and resonance, and a -10 dB attenuator for recording high-level sources without overloading the input stage. Avantone's characteristic cabernet red finish is set against a robust, durable, finely machined brass body.
