Boss - EQ-200
With top-notch sound quality and three different frequency range settings, the BOSS EQ-200 is probably the most versatile graphic EQ pedal ever designed for guitar and bass. And thanks to its stereo inputs and outputs, you can also use it with your keyboard. The EQ-200 actually features dual EQs that can be configured for stereo, series or parallel operation. The insert function even lets you add external effects pedals with pre- and/or post-equalization. Each band offers 15dB of boost or cut, and with its global level control, you can even customise the BOSS EQ-200 graphic EQ pedal to make it your ideal amp pedal.
Presentation
Dual 10-band EQ with adjustable range
With its sleek design, 32-bit/96kHz processing and ultra-low noise, the EQ-200 provides precision sound control with superior rendering quality Cut or Boost of up to 15dB are available on each band, and each channel has a level slider to balance the Bypass sound or recover volume for a solo if required. The EQ-200's frequency configuration can be adjusted in three ways to optimise your equalisation according to the instrument you're using: electric or acoustic guitar, bass, keyboard, etc.
Variable signal flow and Pre/Post effect insert
The variable signal flow structure of the EQ-200 offers a high degree of versatility when it comes to sound shaping. Channels A and B can be linked or used independently, and you can even connect an external footswitch (or chain of footswitches) for pre and/or post EQ processing. Used in conjunction with an overdrive or distortion pedal, this provides exceptional tone-sharpening power for a rhythm or solo. Serial mode runs the two EQs one after the other. So you can set your basic sound with one and your solo sound with the other, or add a layer of settings to the first EQ.
Simple interface and graphical EQ display
Using the EQ-200 is quick and intuitive, with no frustration Physical sliders provide direct access to the 10 EQ bands and the Master volume level, while the display shows the curve created. A dedicated button lets you switch from one EQ to another, and reaching more precise parameters is fast and efficient. And thanks to the Panel Lock function, you can disable the controls to prevent unintentional changes when using other pedals on your pedalboard.
Save and recall your favourite settings
The EQ-200 has four memory locations so you can save your favourite settings and recall them instantly. The Manual setting mirrors the front-panel settings, providing you with a fifth available setting if required. You can switch from one memory to another using a footswitch on the EQ-200, and it's even possible to limit the range of memory choices for even quicker access when playing live.
Advanced real-time controls
By default, the EQ-200 footswitches control bypass and memory scrolling, but you can reassign them to turn a channel on or off, select a specific memory... You can also use external footswitches, which can also be assigned as required. You can also connect an expression pedal to control the levels of channels A or B, or even the overall output (in place of a volume pedal). MIDI input and output are also available via TRS minijacks, so you can manage various functions from an external MIDI controller, and daisy-chain several 200 Series pedals to select the memories for each one simultaneously.
