DPA - 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL, Cuivres

The DPA 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL Brass is aimed at musicians and technicians looking for natural, detailed and reliable recording of wind instruments. A direct evolution of the famous 4099, this version incorporates CORE+ technology and pushes back the limits even further in terms of dynamics, clarity and robustness on stage. Designed for saxophonists, trumpeters and other brass players on stage, it guarantees faithful reproduction of timbre while providing perfect control of volume and sound proximity.

The 4099 CORE+'s pre-polarised condenser capsule and super-cardioid pattern ensure excellent isolation, even in noisy stage environments. Its extended frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with a slight rise around 10-12 kHz, captures all the harmonic richness and warmth of copper. Thanks to its ability to withstand up to 145 dB SPL peak, it can be positioned very close to the horn without the risk of saturation or distortion. This resistance makes it particularly effective for trumpets, tenor or baritone saxophones, where dynamic variations are strong.

The STC4099 mounting system supplied with this model has been designed for intuitive operation and stable positioning. Its mounting mechanism allows the microphone to be moved from one instrument to another with just one hand, making it ideal for multi-instrumentalists. The flexible 140mm gooseneck allows precise, repeatable adjustment of the mic position, ensuring balanced pick-up from any angle and in any playing style. The soft-touch clip does not mark the surface of the horn and does not interfere with the use of a mute or with stand storage.

The mechanical design of the 4099 CORE+ has been redesigned for improved mechanical isolation and reliability. Its improved internal suspension considerably reduces structure-borne noise and vibrations transmitted through the body of the instrument. What's more, IP58 certification protects the microphone against moisture and dust, essential for intensive use on stage or on tour.

Thanks to its detachable MicroLock connector, the 4099 CORE+ Brass can be used as a wired microphone or integrated into a wireless system via DPA adapters (not included).
