At DPA, the 6388 CORE+ headset microphone ensures stable voice pickup in a variety of acoustic environments, with sound reproduction designed to keep speech clearly defined. Its supercardioid capsule prioritises the sound source directly in front of it and minimises sound from the sides or rear, whilst maintaining good performance when facing sound sources.

The CORE+ capsule covers a frequency response of 100 Hz to 18 kHz, with a slight boost of 1 dB at 14 kHz to preserve the detail of spoken or sung vocals. Its off-centre acoustic axis and partially asymmetrical design minimise the impact of minor positioning variations, ensuring consistent tonal reproduction around the mouth with excellent stability.

The Act earpiece prioritises comfort with rounded ear contours and clips designed to maintain the chosen fit over time. The cable runs down to the junction with the ear hook, whose PVD finish remains discreet, whilst the transparent clips ensure a neat visual integration around the face. A position approximately 3 cm from the mouth achieves the intended balance, with enhanced bass when the earpiece is positioned closer.

The design also aims for long-term use thanks to IP58 certification against moisture and dust, as well as a design that facilitates repairs. The ∅3.5 mm TRS mini-jack connector facilitates integration with compatible devices where the input is suitable.

The zipped case features an identification window, an elastic strap and a pocket for the label, ensuring the equipment remains easily identifiable and neatly organised. This organisation also makes it easier to keep track of associated accessories during packing, storage and regular travel with the audio equipment on a day-to-day basis.
