DPA - 6388-DP-A-C03-LH Brown LEMO

The 6388 is a directional headband microphone designed for clear speech pickup in acoustically complex environments. Its supercardioid polar pattern limits sensitivity to sounds coming from the sides and rear, resulting in a better-isolated voice.

Its acoustic design is based on an off-axis capsule, where the maximum sensitivity does not exactly follow the physical axis of the boom arm. This design ensures consistent pickup even when the capsule is positioned slightly to the side of the mouth, with less reliance on precise positioning.

The frequency response ranges from 100 Hz to 18 kHz, with a slight 1 dB boost at 14 kHz. This range promotes detailed speech reproduction, with a balance suited to close-mouthed use and controlled management of the proximity effect.

The Act armature builds on the familiar design of the 4066 and 4088 models, with improvements aimed at enhancing comfort and reliability. The rounded behind-the-ear earpieces reduce pressure points, the clips hold the selected setting more effectively, and routing the cable downwards minimises stress at the connection point.

CORE+ technology also aims to ensure consistent acoustic performance when pickup conditions vary. Directivity remains controlled across the entire spectrum, particularly at high frequencies, with predictable off-axis rejection and a high feedback-free gain. IP58 certification provides protection against moisture and dust, whilst the serviceable design promotes long-term use.
